Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Operations Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our systems, and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency. You will work closely with various teams to maintain a stable and secure environment, troubleshoot issues, and integrate new technologies to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire IT infrastructure to ensure its continuous operation and reliability, including servers, networks, and software systems.
• Proactively monitor server performance, network status, and applications to identify and resolve issues before they impact business operations.
• Install, configure, and maintain various software applications to support business needs; integrate new technologies/systems into the existing infrastructure to support ongoing business growth and innovation.
• Work closely with developers, IT teams, and other departments to plan, integrate and support the systems, ensuring smooth operations.
• Implement security measures to safeguard IT systems from threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring data protection and compliance with security policies.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and updates to keep the infrastructure current and secure.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for hardware and software procurement, support, and maintenance.
• Manage and resolve incidents quickly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
• Conduct thorough root cause analyses for system failures and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly to maintain optimal system performance.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and change logs to support IT operations and audits.
• Monitor system capacity and performance, ensuring scalability and planning for future infrastructure needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a System Operations Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of server, network, and application monitoring tools
• Hands-on experience with system troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows server environments
• Experience with security measures, firewalls, and disaster recovery planning
• Familiarity with virtualization, cloud technologies, and automation tools
• Ability to analyze system performance and recommend adjustments
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issues
